Matt Position 1: PHP developer working on/within client’s CMS systems Position 2: There is also a Software Engineer that will involve 70% PHP and 30% Java development. Both Positions are a 6 month contract-to-hire with a strong focus on going permanent Client is a laid back yet professional environment. Based on the industry, candidates must be mature and able to work with adult material in the environment Under the direction of the Application Development Team Lead, this position is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of applications for the client. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Development and support of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) based applications. 2. Development and support of PHP-based Content Management systems that drive public facing web sites (Wordpress, and Drupal). 3. Key involvement in building large-scale, high-traffic public facing websites. (across all of the client’s sites, they receive approx 1MM hits a day – candidates experience must be relevant) QUALIFICATIONS: * 4+ years (mid to senior level is the desired skill level) increasingly responsible technology experience, with prior hands-on work experience in applications development related to a company with a major web presence. * Programming experience with the following technologies: PHP, MySQL, OO Design Patterns, XHTML, DHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript. * Direct experience in designing, building, and supporting a very large web presence including first-hand knowledge of scalability techniques (ie caching, clustering, content delivery). * Previous development of content management components such as; templates, plug-ins, themes, and widgets. * Experience with standard software development processes (Agile methods, Continuous integration, etc) is a significant plus. * Experience with structured, process-oriented, software deployment environments is a significant plus * Experience with standard development testing processes (ie unit testing, test driven development) is a significant plus. * Comfortable working in a Windows and Linux environment * Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills as well as being highly self-motivated. * Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or other technical discipline (or equivalent work experience).
