someone in your User Group will be interested in this position. The
position is primarily a PHP Developer role, but the person will have
his/her hand in so many aspects of the IT department at the company
that they listed more things in the description. Thanks.








PHP Developer / Systems Analyst


Our client is a manufacturer of power protection, power supplies and
connectivity products. They are looking for a talented Application
Developer to join their Information Technology Development group. 
They are primarily an IBM iSeries shop that is working on moving our
development focus to the web using PHP and Java.  The ideal candidate
will have extensive experience designing and building browser-based
data-driven applications in a corporate environment.





Required Skills:



Business process and systems analysis skills with the proven ability
to identify, design and deliver technology solutions to business
challenges.


Expert-level PHP skills and a solid understanding of best practices
relating to PHP development.



Experience designing and building databases based on relational
database theory.  The ideal candidate will have expert-level DB2 UDB
for iSeries database skills, but substantial experience with either
SQL Server or MySQL will also suffice.


Experience optimizing supply chain management, order management or
engineering functions within a midsize manufacturing & distribution
enterprise.


Optional Skills:



EDI coordination/development



Data warehouse design/programming



RPG/CL



Microsoft Access / Visual Basic/Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)



SOA/Web Services design, development, and implementation experience


Qualifications:



Minimum 3-5 years experience building highly utilized, secure, and
user friendly browser-based applications.



Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to teach your technical
skills to other members of the Information Technology Development
group.



Substantial experience with business application development and a
good understanding of general business concepts related to the
manufacturing/distribution arena.


Duties:



Working with representatives from the our company user community to
define business needs



Designing and implementing browser-based applications to address
business needs



Training the helpdesk and user community on the use of custom or off
the shelf applications



Providing Level 2 technical support for the applications that you write



Preparing appropriate documentation to assist with business continuity
(a.k.a. disaster recovery) planning
