Greetings Chicago PHP Developers!

I wanted to take a moment of your time to inform you about an open
PHP/MySQL developer position I’m looking to fill here at Tukaiz, in
Franklin Park. Since the position requires a great deal of expertise
and outside-the-box thinking, I figured who better to contact than
the best and brightest developers in Chicago.

I won’t repeat what’s in the job description below, but I wanted to
make sure I told you all a little bit about the company before you
read it. Tukaiz is a marketing services production company that has
been around since the 60’s. Our heritage has been in the graphic arts
through most of our history, but in 1995 the owners decided to create
an Interactive department as they recognized the importance of
digital media. Over the years, the Interactive team at Tukaiz has
built everything from: multimedia CD-ROMs, e-Learning applications, e-
Commerce and enterprise-level websites, to custom web applications to
support our commercial printing solutions.

Right now we’re in a period of rapid growth, primarily because of our
variable data print applications and we’re looking for talented
developers to come on board to help support this effort. It’s not
essential that candidates have experience in the digital print
industry as most all of the technology is built on open-source
platforms. Additionally, we’ve got a great team of developers already
in place who are also excited about both sharing their knowledge as
well as learning what someone else can teach them.

Software Development Specialist
Tukaiz LLC (www.tukaiz.com) is searching for an experienced software
development specialist for fulltime onsite work in Franklin Park, IL
(just south of O’Hare Airport). Applicants should have a great amount
of experience with all aspects of web development. Experience with
print design is a plus but is not required.

The job will require expert-level knowledge of following skills:
•	PHP
•	MySQL
•	XML
•	XHTML
•	DHTML
•	CSS
•	JavaScript
•	AJAX/DOM Scripting
•	Object-Oriented Programming Techniques

Nice to haves:
•	SOAP/WSDL
•	Ruby on Rails
•	Code Igniter Framework
•	Experience with Printable or Direct Smile
•	Experience with Flash ActionScript or Adobe Flex

Ideal candidates will be able to:
•	Manage assigned projects from start to completion including
concept, development and delivery to both internal and external clients.
•	Interface with clients through entire process of a project via
meetings, email and conference calls to ensure a satisfied customer.
•	Work with management developing project quotes, timelines and
project scope.
•	Act as a mentor to junior level developer with regards to
developing the technical skill set if his/her peers.
•	Write technical process documentation for custom procedures and
applications built in house.

The ideal applicant will have the following characteristics:

satisfaction.
•	Proactive in seeking solutions to problems before they arise.
•	Strong communication and multitasking ability.
•	Able to work either independently, with extremely accurate strong

collaborative team with graphic design professionals.
•	Ability to work on a high volume of projects often with short
turnaround hard deadlines.
•	Good organization skills and attention to detail.

Requirements:
•	BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent
industry experience
•	5+ Years of professional experience in the software development
industry
