This is my last reply on the subject since I don't want to argue about Smarty here, but if you have any actual facts as to why using Smarty is bad, and even better, know of a template system that fits your 'web 2.0' notions, I would like to hear it. Calling it 'cancer' and not 'web 2.0' isn't informative at all, especially since web 2.0 means about a million different things to different people - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2 . Not one single mention of meanings on there has anything to do with using Smarty.
