Hey Sara! ChiPUG now has a redundant array of Sara's ;-) (albeit slightly different spelling). Not sure about January meeting.. Rich?.. As to frameworks, Cake is pretty Rails-like and good and have heard good things about Symfony. Don't have any good docs, but would strongly suggest a slow methodical approach in evaluating frameworks. If you have an existing code base, it may be more efficient to just refactor to a good pattern rather than use framework.
