My company, Duo Consulting is looking to hire a full-time, on-site Senior PHP Developer to work on custom web applications and CMS add-ons for our clients. We're located at 1 N Wacker (two blocks north of the Sears Tower in the Loop). Job requirements below. If you have any questions about the position or about Duo please contact me directly: jde...@du... ------------------------------------ Description Duo improves lives by connecting people, information, and technology. Do you have patience and a good sense of humor? Do you like to work with smart people and be challenged on a daily basis? Are you curious and do you enjoy learning new things? Do you want to be at the center of the business, and not just supporting it? To work at Duo, you must enjoy working with others to understand and solve problems directly. Larger problems at times require additional brain power; asking for help and being a good team player are essential to success at Duo. We ask each other about the best solutions to difficult problems all the time -- and we take the time to listen. And then we play ping pong. Duo takes care of its people by creating a relaxed atmosphere where you can excel in a team environment with like-minded people. In addition to the many perks at Duo, not having to spend time in the morning figuring out what in your closet fits the dress code is one of the nicest. If that sounds like something you'd like to be part of, then we're looking for you! As a developer you will work with a diverse group of business analysts, project managers, designers, marketers and developers to help in the design, implementation and maintenance of a variety of web applications. You must be comfortable working in a team environment on many simultaneous projects. You must also be open to learning and growing with Duo. Requirements -- A love for defining and solving problems -- A love for programming -- Smart, capable, and resourceful -- Intellectual curiosity -- Passion for standards and best practices -- Verbal and written communication fluency and knowing how and when to use them -- Self-motivated, well-organized, and excited to take ownership and responsibility for your work -- Dependable and reliable -- PHP, and the ability and willingness to learn other languages and systems you don't know -- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and/or MySQL 5 -- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming theory and practice in PHP5 -- Experience with design patterns -- Experience with web services and consuming APIs -- Experience with sessions and cookies -- Experience using XHTML, CSS and/or JavaScript -- Working knowledge and specific code examples that demonstrate the above skills Experience working with an established CMS is a definite plus. Experience with Zend Framework a definite plus. Duo offers good, competitive benefits: multiple insurance options; matching 401K; generous PTO to start. Send your resume along with a code sample (preferably OOP PHP5) to jde...@du... |
