This is, of course, pretty bogus... We'll all be out at php|tek at O'Hare Hyatt Regency. Blue Line to RIVER ROAD... I'm thinking we should all get together out here WEDNESDAY post-talks. Anybody else up for that, assuming it conflicts with no other big-name post-talk events? I know there is a party Thursday night as well -- Perhaps it would be better to have folks "crash" that... I'll check with Marco and see if that's kosher or not. It was good to see some familiar faces during the conference. Although I wasn't able to talk long, I tried to have a brief conversation with the folks that I recognized. Jason...thanks for the rides from Evanston. They really made life simple for those days. I'm looking forward to the upcoming meetings and I'm definitely planning to take advantage of the new "Beginner's Break" segment of the meetings. I'm thinking that it may be helpful if I shared my code with the group. This way you guys could suggest readings for areas that need improvement. And these things could then serve as topics for discussion during the "Beginner's Breaks." What are your thoughts? |

Sounds like a plan, but post a link to your source using something like http://phpfi.org or http://pastebin.com Another option is to have a copy (or symlink in Linux) with .phps on the end, and turn on syntax_highlighting in httpd.conf -- This lets you share the "live" code actually being used direct from your website. Large chunks of code pasted to a mailing list tend to get annoying quickly, if you know what I mean. Hi all. I was looking forward to taking advantage of the Beginner's Break segment of the upcoming Wednesday meeting. However, (much to my disappoint) I won't be able to attend due to an unexpected conflict with a meeting that has come up with my job. I hope you'll continue to entertain the thought of "Beginner's Break" segments for future meetings. See you next time. So er, yeah, question. Last month there was talk that info.com wasn't able to host us anymore. I think Rich had offered his place, but that got interrupted by BarCamp. I'm working on a permanent home for our meeting, but we'll have to give it a miss for tonight. If nothing else, after the painters finish and my place isn't a dustbowl anymore, we can meet at my house. I'm working on something a bit better than that, however. Ah well. For reference, Palantir.net (my employer) is willing to host meetings if needed. We're currently located in Evanston with easy parking and about .7 miles from CTA Purple Line or 1 mile from Metra. OK then, so ChiPHP this week will be hosted by Palantir.net! :-) Where: 1601 Simpson Suite #6 Evanston, IL 60201 Google Maps: http://tinyurl.com/3cr4kf The entrance is in the back of the building, by the parking lot. We're even on Street View now. :-) There is parking in back of the building or across the street or on the street. Alternatively, we're about a 15 min walk from the Davis St. Purple Line station / Davis St. Metra station. *If you are planning to come, please reply and let me know!* We can order food for people, but I need some idea of how many we are expecting.
