ChiPHPug (Chicago PHP Users Group) meeting is coming up. If I wrote the PHP code correctly, it's on 01/03/2004 For sure, it's on the FIRST SATURDAY of each month. The next chiPHPug meeting will be held on Saturday, January 3rd, at 1 pm. Our guest speaker will be John Coggeshall, noted PHP author and speaker, http://www.coggeshall.org/, speaking about "Tidying Up Your HTML With PHP." The meeting will be held at The Hansen House, 164 W. Eugenie, in Chicago. For more information on the location, the web site is: http://members.aol.com/hansenhouse1/; phone: 312-440-6020. There is both metered and free street parking nearby. There are also a few paid lots: e.g., the Treasure Island grocery store 1/2 block south on Wells, the Pipers Alley garage around the corner on North Avenue, and the lot in the corner of Lincoln Park 1 block east off of Clark Street. There are El stops a few blocks west at Sedgwick & North Avenue on the Brown Line, and several blocks away at Clark & Division Street on the Red Line. Also, the Clark Street bus stops about a block east of the inn. There will be DSL Internet access via both Ethernet and 802.11g wireless connections. If you want to use the Ethernet connection then please bring your own cable. Scott Beatty's* wife, Fran Ramer, who is the owner of the inn, would like to get a photo of the meeting in progress, in order to use on her web site to illustrate that small business meetings can be held at the inn. So, if you don't mind, please dress in business casual attire. Also, Hansen House is a no-smoking building. Thanks. * web...@ya... |

ChiPHPug (Chicago PHP Users Group) meeting is coming up. If I wrote the PHP code correctly, it's on 03/06/2004 For sure, it's on the FIRST SATURDAY of each month. Time: 1 pm Location: 434 West Ontario, Suite 300 http://typea.net Directions: Find any of the "theme" restaurants like Rock-n-Roll McDonalds, Hard Rock Cafe, etc. Skip Lunch, we have food there. Find Ontario Street, and drive on it. Legally. One Way. Stay in the right lane. "Miss" the entrance ramp to the highway, and take that little spur street (Ontario) as it continues straight forward. This will make sense when you are there. Park. Some of the meters are free on Saturdays. If you are desparate, or hate meter-feeding go to the dead end of Ontario. Turn Left, under the expressway ramp. Turn Left on Ohio (the dinky little dead-end spur). $7 honor box parking. |

I know you've all heard me harp on about this before, but unit testing ("harness testing" in their parlance) is one of the central themes of the fusebox development lifecycle. Although there isn't a lot of literature on the web about it, I am reading a book that does a reasonably good job describing how it's done so if you all feel like coming to Gran Canaria, we can have a meeting here and I'll present what I've learned! ;-) BTW, Fusebox 4.1 for PHP has been officially released and can be downloaded from http://www.fusebox.org/ Ted Stresen-Reuter On Jan 25, 2005, at 12:28 AM, Dave Minor wrote: > On Jan 24, 2005, at 6:05 PM, Richard Lynch wrote: > >> My preference would be for: >> Unit Testing #1 >> Sockets #2 >> CVS #3 >> > > I'm with Richard on this one.
