  • Chicken looks like a promising project, but lack of Retina support and frequent disconnects due to "Unknown message type 5" currently make it unusable for me. In terms of "Ease of Use" I found the default fullscreen key very unfortunate, and the Preferences for changing keys are not exactly intuitive. I'll try RealVNC Viewer instead for now ...
  • Great program! I use it from my MacBook to connect to my Linux machine via VNC. The latest version of OSX (El Capitan) breaks the "Tunnel to SSH" option, so you would have to set one up yourself. I found the following command to fix this: From Console in OSX: (Note, I used port 25902 so that I do not need to use root privileges for this to work) ssh -N -L 25902:localhost:5902 <username>@<ip address> Then when you create your connection from Chicken, uncheck the "Tunnel Over SSH" option. I found the bug report, and they said this will be fixed in the next version of Chicken (current version is 2.2b)
  • Useless. VNC Client comes with OSX. From Finder, "Go | Connect to Server" (or CMD-K), then (for example): vnc://ip-or-dns.com:5900/ If you want to pre-populate the user or user/pass, the standard HTTP conventions work: The only reason to use a 3rd party client is stronger security (which Chicken does not provide).
  • How do I configure a proxy within Chicken? Could someone please advise. Thanks!
  • Nice!
