#1 Low speed on connection to LDAP ? [verify]

Hmm, I think this is an important issue, so I filed a
bug against it.

The connection to my LDAP server (in test setup) is way
to slow. (10 MBit link)
For my taste, it should be a matter of a second to
retrieve that tiny little bit of cleartext information
from the directory.

- Look for a speed-up solution !
