And where it says Arena on the Client, just replace Arena with ChessX Chessbase or SCID, it doesn’t matter. Not that you need to install Plink from putty, this important sentence comes at the very end.

The difference to your setup: The server hosting the engine is a Linux server, not Windows.
Thus you would need a xinetd which for example can be found in Cygwin. See for example

Haven’t tested this but it all sounds reasonable.
