Hello Michael, as it is not possible to distribute Linux binaries (there is no universal concept to distribute binaries) it is up to the distributions to provide binaries in their stores. Quite a lot of distributions already provide ChessX in their stores, see my experience with elementary freya linux on https://sourceforge.net/p/chessx/wiki/ChessX%20and%20Linux/ which also contains hints for Ubuntu and Debian Linux.
