Sir: I have been using ChessX for several years to upload and verify two-move checkmate problems to the Mate en Dos database (https://sites.google.com/site/edusadier/home?pli=1) )
The use of the .pgn format for problems differs slightly from that for games: for example, ‘White’ is the name of the problem’s composer(s), ‘Event’ is used for ‘source or origin’, ‘Site’ for ‘Award or distinction’, and ‘Black’ is always ‘#2’, indicating the type of problem.
However, when the database contains thousands of composers and sources, typing the first few letters brings up multiple options, in no particular order.
My question is: would it be possible for both ‘White’ and ‘Event’ to be displayed in alphabetical order? That would be a great help.
Many thanks for your incredible programme and advice.
Yours sincerely, Eduardo Sadier, Buenos Aires, Argentina
