All chess engines can be simply started from the commandline to see, if you got the right version.
Step 1) Download the sse2 engine to lets say '/Users/you/Downloads/stockfish15-x86-64-sse2'
Step 2) Open a terminal and make the download an executable file by chmod +x /Users/you/Downloads/stockfish15-x86-64-sse2
Step 3) Persuade gatekeeper to allow executing an unknown application spctl --enable /Users/you/Downloads/stockfish15-x86-64-sse2
Step 4) Run the engine by calling '/Users/you/Downloads/stockfish15-x86-64-sse2'
    Now there are two outcomes:
Outcome 1) The application replies Stockfish 220922 by the Stockfish developers (see AUTHORS file). Just type in quit to leave stockfish, you can now configure the fish inside ChessX.
Outcome 2) The application fails with some error 4 or 6 and a message about an unknown command. This means that your processor does not support sse2 extensions and is probably far older than my mac. In this case, post you processor spec and I will make a stockfish with less requirements. If sse2 works you might consider giving the avx512 stockfish a try. Proceed as above and see what happens.

Many thanks, I am not a computer expert and thanks to you, I did and now I have stockfish 15 on my chessX !
I am so glad you developed chessX as there is not many solution for chess players on MAC.
      Cheers.
