#100 New variation dialog.

Luca Daniel

Whenever a mouse slip occurs and I make a wrong move I have to return and make the right/correct move that I want, which would be added as a variation, then promote that variation, then delete the mistake variation.
This dialog would have buttons like:
[New variation]
And this dialog would have a setting to activate/deactivate for those who like the present behavior of chessx.
When multiple variation are available at that move, it's important to not overwrite them all, instead have a box to select which variation to overwrite.
Another interesting option is to have a button with [Main line] possibility, to create it and promote it straight to main line. This is different from [Overwrite] because it keeps other line/s as variation/s.

At least part of the functionality is there: by pressing CTRL+mouse moving the next piece, there won't be a new variation but instead, the variation is replaced by the new move.
You can tell by watching the mouse icon: it will turn into an arrow if you press the CTRL-Key.
Actually I personally do not like the damn Chessbase variation dialog, as it breaks my work flow more than from now and then to grab the CTRL-key.
But the discussion is old and if enough users complain, I will consider making the dialog at least an option. Or perhaps someone codes the thing and sends me a patch ...
