I have two problems with ChessX clocks in player/engine games, are these just my misunderstanding?
If I open ChessX and select to start a new "match against engine" with sudden death time, and select the engine to start, the game begins with both player and engine clocks counting down -- this seems incorrect to me, I expect neither clock counts down until the first move.
If, instead, I start up ChessX, flip the board first (now white is at the top), and do the same thing (start human/engine match with sudden death time, engine plays first) then neither clock counts down until the engine moves (which is the behaviour I expect).
Also, with sudden death time set, the engine's clock reset's to full time after every engine move, this doesn't seem correct to me.
Which version of ChessX?
I'm using 1.5.6.0 on Windows 11.
If you want, you can pick up a beta and report back, if the problem persists. See https://sourceforge.net/projects/chessx/files/chessx/beta/ for Mac and Windows Betas
I just tried the 1.5.7d beta version and it seems the same as 1.5.6.
I cannot replicate this issue, using the bleeding edge master, commit:
