#1 Connection to a MySql Database

I have an applet. On the server is a MySql database. This database is only accessable by a servlet. So I have to program a servlet. The applet must ask the servlet to read/write data from/to the database. I do not know how to do. The name of the database is: spelenderwijsschaken.
Database: MySQL 4.1.12 draait op localhost:3306 als user@localhost.
