Hello all, I implemented board::move_piece, which should give you an idea of how simple it is to move a piece by name to a given square. That should speed up the network+xmlrpc (protocol) portions of the code, as well as the ability to plugin other engines to chesslan! Way to go. I updated the README file to show what you really need. You can use any text editor (or IDE) you want. Now, for the libraries, you only need libgtkmm-2.4 (and up) and libgnomecanvasmm-2.6 and up. How to install them depends on what platform/distribution you are using. If you are in, say, a debian-based distribution of Linux, then you can just do: apt-get install libgtkmm-2.4-dev libgnomecanvasmm-2.6-dev If not, you can always install them from the source packages... though I have never done that myself. So, you will need to read a bit. I added "che...@li..." in the CC, just to keep others in the loop.
