It should have been done from the Tools menu - i.e. "Tools" menu, select "Download Games from" then select "3.5 million site #1" > All the .si, .sg, and other files from this page are > now extracted into a single file. They should *not* be one file. There should be 3 files, one with the extension .si3, another with the extension .sn3 and another .sg3. The files do need to all be extracted, but then contatonated, such as the first part of the huge.sg3 file is made up from huge.sg3aa, the second part is huge.sg3ab, the third is huge.sg3ac and so on. You could probably do it like this on on a command tool c:\> copy /b huge.sg3aa+huge.sg3ab+huge.sg3ac huge.sg3 (but dont stop at the 'ac', but continue to the last one. ) Do likewise for the huge.si3 and huge.sn3 BUT, that would be very error prone, so I think there is a better way. What I suggest you do now it so select the Tools menu, the select "Download games from", then select "3.5 million, site #1". But when you select a directory choose *exactly* the directory to where you have put the files before. ChessDB would normally download, extract and contatonate these automatically for you, but since you have done it, it should not need to download much again - it will download 3 small zip files, but that is all. Hopefully, you should see some messages about it finding the files on your disk and so it not downloading them. Let me know if you manage that ok. |
