I (once again) fixed the CP2 Subversion repository and Trac site. I'm going to eventually upgrade to Subversion 1.1 which will hopefully fix the database locking issues. - Hendrik |

Hi, all - Well, I was hoping to check out CP2 from subversion but the server is still down... I'm coming to a point where I have a bit of time in the next day or so that I wanted to use to review and work with CP2; anyone want to send me a zip/bz2 file with a recent cvs version? Thanks! I agree with this - leave the versioning separate from the name. CherryPy is cool, IMHO, as it is concise and has a great 'whimsy' factor like the rest of Pythondom. On a different note - anything to report about the subversion server? The SVN repository locked up again. Interestingly enough, it stays up for the entire 10 or so days I was offline, and now that I'm back, it keeps messing up. Argh! Anyway, just a couple of days ago a new version of Subversion was released that comes with an alternative data storage backend (skipping BerkleyDB) which is supposed to help with the database locking problems. I'm going to give it a whirl as soon as I have some time, which unfortunately will not be before the weekend. I'll try to fix the current repository some time today, but if it locks up again, I'll wait until the weekend and then do the above. - Hendrik |

Unfortunately, it is on Hendrik's server and I don't have access to it :-( I hope he'll get online soon and fix it. I hope he can find a permanent fix, otherwise we'll have to find an alternative ... I like the Cherrypy name as well - refreshing from the geeky acronym names. Easy to brand Cherrypy, I would just keep it and increment version. Cost is quite significant to start a new brand. Rather work on strengthening it. On Oct 4, 2004, at 5:30 PM, Brendan Simon wrote: > That's true.
