Can the Checkstyle check the JSP file? I added the jsp
extension in the property of a project, but it didn't work.

No, currently checkstyle can't check JSP files. This is very
hard to do, because JSP is hard to parse and it's unclear
whether to check some aspects of the surrounding HTML as well.

Lowering priority, as this will probably never be
implemented by the current Checkstyle dev team.
    Contributions are very welcome, though.

If you want to tackle this task, you should probably read
the FileSetCheck section in our "writing checks" document,
and have a serious look at the JSP compiler included in TomCat.

Chekcstyle will focus on Java only sources plus *.properties .
We have no plans to extend Checkstyle to support other languages for now.
