When an GenericIllegalRegexpCheck subclass fails it gives
a message like
Line matches the illegal pattern '\s$'
That is not a very user friendly message particularly when
the pattern gets rather complex.
I propose that there be a string message property that can
be set for a given check. If that property is set then that
message will be used for the text of the message in the log.
If that property is not set (the default) then the current
standard message will be used.
That way I could instead of the above message have:
Line contains trailing whitespace.
So a user can know what failed without having to parse the
Log in to post a comment.
