#12 attempt to fix login

Google recently (late Sept. 2009) changed something that breaks the login for some people. The problem is discussed in this thread: https://sourceforge.net/projects/checkgmail/forums/forum/463626/topic/3405947

spoofedex posted a patch to partially fix the problem for v1.12 ( http://paste.ubuntuusers.de/396472/ ). I've modified the patch to work with the latest version (v1.13svn, revision 37). The patch restores the functionality of the tooltip menus, but still does not log the user in when the icon is left-clicked.
