Would "ascaroside C6" be a better primary label?

There are about 150 metabolites of C. elegans in ChEBI which use a # character in the ChEBI name. This was not a ChEBI innovation, but we simply followed the 'convenient' Small Molecule Identifier Database (SMID DB, a C. elegans metabolites database) system, on the basis that: they should know what the subject area, the identifiers are widely used in C. elegans publications, and 'structural' names are likely to be rather long.

However, the inclusion of the hash in the ChEBI name is problematic (for one thing they look as if they could be computer error codes) and we will try to replace them with alternatives when we can (the #-containing names will be retained as synonyms).
