A: D-Ser (C3H5NO2) is an abbreviation for D-serine residue
in the sequence recommended by JCBN (IUPAC/IUBMB) and should
not be used for free D-serine (C3H7NO3). However the term
"D-serine" is used as a name for RESID:AA0195, that's why it
appears in synonyms. We plan to extend the ontology to
encompass more relationships (not only current IsA). Then
the relationships between the residues and free amino acids
will be explicitly stated.
