using os x 10.2.6

chatSearch always crashes for me after the initial import
when ~/Library/Application Support/chatSearch doesn't
exist.

after the initial crash, it works fine

Think I've got this fixed... if I don't hear otherwise from adam
n (nanovivid) by the time I finish my other changes I'll
consider it fixed.
