Added direction flag. Per is probably doing something to augment the broken IPC, but this was my start at an attempt to fix the weirdness. I was going to use this flag and also use two separate queues and semaphores.

Another idea was to implement a mailbox class that does all the necessary locking for me and use that class everywhere needed.

If Per doesn't check his stuff in, this is what I will do :)
