Take this basic plugin, store the usage data in a DB. Use the plugin on a large project and you might come up with some very interesting statistics showing which coders work best at which times, how effective different coders are, if ther are an optimal number of changes between a CVS checkout & checkin. etc.
It's been something I've been thinking about writig for some time so that (personally) I have a log that I can use for creating timesheets for differnt projects and customers.
