I ran into trouble when I inserted a \par inside some \added test. I got an error message, and the text after the \par appeared twice.
What am I doing wrong?

You are not doing anything wrong, this is an issue with my limited programming capabilities.

Paragraphs, page breaks, lists, headings etc. cannot be included in changes-commands. Sorry.

Can lists of references be included in the changed text, for example:
\replaced{\citep{ref1, ref2, ref3}}{remove this junk-- \citep{ref1, ref2, ref3}}
