Greetings,

I was quite perplexed to see in your docs that you state there is no
setting to change Finder's background color. In system
preferences, desktop (of desktop & screen saver) exposes a color
well when choosing the placement option of center from the
placement menu.

One confusing detail appears to be that the placement menu in
system preferences is only shown for some picture choices - more
specifically, every picture I tried from my personal pictures had
the menu appear but none of those I tried from the system choices
gave the menu.

For example, 'defaults read com.apple.desktop Background' shows
(in part):
{
69504220 = {
BackgroundColor = (0.6561086177825928,
0.02243380062282085, 0.06888965517282486);
Change = Never;
ChangePath = "/Library/Desktop Pictures/Solid Colors";
...
(not that I particularly like red, but it's certainly not blue :-)
