I have noticed the following phenomenon with v2.3

If I use the "visual effects" of iTunes and have the
Change desktop daemon on, and there is enough time
to change the desktop several times, when I turn off the
visual effects, the icons on the desktop have moved.

This does not happen if the daemon is off, or the visual
effects is not used.

This sounds like a problem with the Finder. CD does not draw
the Desktop picture, the Finder does.

Are you using full screen iTunes visuals? If you are, it may
be that iTunes is switching your monitor resolution and with
the Desktop being updated in the background causing the
Finder to misplace icons when your original monitor
    resolution is restored.

A workaround for this problem, would be to not use full
screen visuals or to Suspend Desktop changes before using them.
