I don't think it's leaving...

I want to remove ChangeDesktop (along with all third party everything) from
the G4 on which I edit images. I think it's all tossed, but I notice that when
Jaguar switches desktop pictures, they blink from one to the next (CD
standard) rather than fading (Apple standard). Could a piece of teh daemon
still be lurking under the hood?
(Installed on 10.1.5; removed on
10.2)

1. Fading is not the standard. It is only enabled on those
machines where Quartz Extreme is enabled. So if your machine
does not have QE, then you won't get the fading desktop. For
more info. on this, see Feature Request #616703.
2. It is very easy to see if any part of ChangeDesktop is
running. Open ProcessViewer (in /Applications/Utilities) and
see if any of the running Applications contain ChangeDesktop
in their name. If not, then CD is not running.

Thanks for the quick followup, and for the quick tutorial. All I
knew was that one G4 (a more recent model) faded, and the
other didn't, so etc.
Also, ProcessViewer sounds brilliant. I am a recent convert to
OS X.
