The login screen is the first dialog that is shown to the user when the [[UserManual:Desktop application] is launched.
The application launcher is the dialog where are listed all available modules of the system.
These items are described in detail in this page.
Login screen
The login screen is the door of entrance to the system.
In the login screen you will be required the username and password that has been assigned for your use on the system.

The login screen, the first dialog that appears when the system is launched.
The administration of system's users is a task of the system administrator. If you don't have an account, you must request one to your system administrator. The account that is created for you will have associated the privileges that your administrator believes you should have so that you can do your work successfully.
If you block your account or forget your password, you must contact your system administrator to request a new password or to request the unlock of your account.
Once you log in successfully to the system, your username and password will be cyphered and stored in your windows user profile. The next time you open the system, the username and password fields of the login screen will be already filled with the information of the last user who logged in into the system.
Data services connection and proxy server
The desktop application connects to a main server that provides the necessary functions to retrieve and store all system data. This includes the login screen that will not work if the URI of the data services is not correct.
You can find the field to enter the URI of the data services by clicking on the arrow labeled "Data services connection". The URI of the system services is provided by your system administrator.

System services configurations.
The services that the system uses are called web services. This kind of services relies on the protocol that any web page uses. This means that the URI you should specify for the system services has the form of a regular web page. If you want to know more about web services, check the web.
There are sometimes where network administrators opt to have better control over the network of an organization. One way to have some control over the network is to use proxy servers. If your network uses a proxy server, your system administrator should provide you the information of the proxy server along with the URI of the system services.

Proxy server configuration dialog.
The proxy server is configured pressing the small button next to the field of the URI of the services of the system. The mandatory data is the server and the port. The user and password fields can be left blank if your system administrator doesn't provide to you this information. Else, you must fill those fields.
It is out of the scope of this manual to explain what is a proxy server.
Application launcher
The application launcher is the place where are listed all available modules of the system. This dialog is very simple.
The application launcher screen is divided in categories, listed as clickable tabs at the top.
On the main area of the dialog are listed modules available on that category. A single click is enough to launch the desired module. Some modules may take longer to launch than other modules.

If this dialog is closed, the user is logged out and the login screen is shown again.
