[cgiirc-general] CGIIRC strange behaviour on installation

I have giirc setup but it is not working properly. The ircd is setup and
working good. I can connect via mirc and other clients. I can even connect
via other cgiirc to my server.

 

My server is in my basement and I am trying to connect from same network not
behind NAT. It does work from outside on other cgiirc's but not on the local
one.

 

I can get the login screen. I set the nick, server and channel. I get the
interface but that's it. If I type in the area it does nothing when I hit
enter it says ":not connected to IRC. It actually logs into irc server
because my other clients see's the nick. After four minutes or so, one time
it came up ok and I typed one message and it showed up in channel but after
that it did the same thing.

 

I need some guidance on where I should be looking for the troubles.
