Yes, I have used it with apache-ssl in the past and I think people do now.
I haven't changed to do with that sort of thing for a long time so I don't
think it would be a bug.

You could try the CVS version as that now uses xmlhttp for sending data,
which allows error messages to be displayed if there are any.
