[cgiirc-general] Non-persistant connections

I remember reading on one of the 'planned features' pages that in the 
future cgi:irc would support browsers where persistant connections could 
not be maintained.  I have this problem at work - the proxy servers kill 
our connection after about 15 minutes.

I have not seen any further mention of this, and am hoping it has not 
dropped off the radar as a needed feature.  Are there still any plans 
for supporting this?

Yes - I don't know when, I haven't been working on the new version much.
(It would be too hard to make it work on the CGI version).

Oh well.  Just wanted to put it out that there is still a desire for 
such a feature.

On another note, how hard would it be to add a config file flag which 
would tell the client to actually display JPG and GIF file links, rather 
than just showing the URL?  I've been looking for something that could 
be used for online demos, where the person giving the demo would be able 
to have their pictures show up in line with the talk.
