As stated below I let the script create the dir and it still didn't
write the files.
Yes the dir has write attributes.

If I had to guess, I would say that $server_path/cgi-bin/session is =20
not writable by the web server.  Have you checked the permissions of =20
that directory to ensure that the webserver can write to it?
