Command to display the message on control panel is:
@PJL RDYMSG DISPLAY = "<STRING>", where STRING
usually represents name of the printer.
At the end of every job processed by CEPS, it adds
this command so that when printer is finished
printing it would display its name on the panel. But,
this command alone does not work on certain printers
such as HP CLJ 4730, HP CLJ 4700.
As part of new print solution initiative and to meet
InfoSec's requirement, use of PJL password feature on
HP devices became a necessity. Once the device is
secured with PJL Password, it expects PJL Password to
be supplied with *ANY* PJL command, hence CEPS need
to send PLJ Password at the end of processing so that
Printer's name gets displayed on the control panel.
It has been tried and verified that if PJL Password
is supplied along with RDYMSG DISPLAY, printer name
can be displayed on control panel of devices
mentioned above.
