I haven't tried the open nvidia driver, but I assume it's in similar condition. Most of the problems I was getting were because of a lack of video memory (32M in my laptop): - Commercial drivers running out of memory, downsample light map: http://www.engsoc.org/~pat/celestia/misc/ATILightMapIssue.jpg - Open-source drivers out of RAM (they don't downsample): http://pat.suwalski.net/celestia/misc/opensource-ati-errors.jpg However, this one is still an issue. I'm sure it's in the implementation, but any guesses what's actually wrong so that I can file a good bug?: http://pat.suwalski.net/celestia/misc/ATISaturnRings.jpg Similar thing for Neptune. There does seem to be a hint of the ring texture, so it's not completely messed. --Pat |
