Andrew,

it seems your fast SVN delete action of *.mak scripts and *.dsp files has broken the build system substantially. The errors that the  user 'revaz' experienced today and which I can confirm are NOT fixed by your patch

Here is my output at the first error:

make[3]: *** No rule to make target `util.mak', needed by `all-am'.  Stop.
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/t00fri/Develop/celestia/src/celutil'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

To fix all subsequent errors, all *.mak and *.dsp files are needed. There is presumably another way, but your patch does not suffice for sure.

My findings  match this shatters.net thread:

Turns out the automake system is now broken because the code to
exclude the .mak and .dsp files now cannot find them. The fix is
relatively simple (see attachment). Question is whether it is worth
doing this or whether we should finally retire automake.
