There needs to be an intensity control for OpenCluster lablels. It needs to include a setting which causes all OpenCluster labels to be visible irregardless of distance and radius.

With the addition of the feature "fade labels with distance and size", OpenCluster labels have effectively disappeared completely. This breaks all the Addons which use them.

    ditto for Nebula labels

    I tested the openclusters.dsc add-on from here: http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/catalogs.html#3.5.1

It still looks fine when viewed from Earth. From what distances does it need to be visible?

It is too close to 1.5.0 final to add a new setting and UI (for all four platforms) for controlling OpenCluster labels. Some other solution might be possible; this is a matter for discussion on the celestia-developers list.

    Strange.

I seem to be able to see them now, and their visibility is affected by the magnitude limit keys []. I could swear that wasn't working before.

There's still the issue of labelling extra-galactic objects. In particular, using OpenCluster to label coordinates on the models I use for galactic and ecliptic coordinates doesn't work so well. I'll rashly assume that problem will be resolved in some other way....

Labeling of extra-galactic objects will be eventually handled with the introduction of labeled markers. The problem with coordinate labels could be addressed via labeled markers or (better) by incorporating galactic and ecliptic coordinate displays into Celestia. I'm going to close this bug, but it would be good to add a feature tracker item for galactic and ecliptic coordinate displays.
