[CEDET-devel] What is semantic-c-by?

I just tried to install CEDET again (from CVS). When I tried to open a
c file I got:

Debugger entered--Lisp error: (file-error "Cannot open load file"
"semantic-c-by")
  require(semantic-c-by)
  eval-buffer(#<buffer  *load*> nil
"c:/cedet-cvs/cedet/semantic/bovine/semantic-c.el" nil t)  ; Reading

  load-with-code-conversion("c:/cedet-cvs/cedet/semantic/bovine/semantic-c.el"
"c:/cedet-cvs/cedet/semantic/bovine/semantic-c.el" nil t)
  semantic-default-c-setup()

Is there something I should have done before opening the c file? Could
perhaps CEDET check and tell me what I should have done?

I would guess that a full compile did not happen.  If you get CEDET out
of CVS, files such as *-by.el, and *-wy.el must be created during the
compilation process.  If you get a distribution, then they are included
in the tar file.

I don't know if it is worth the effort to check to see if a compilation
step was done or not.  Compilation could fail at almost any step.

Yes, that is true. When investigating this more it looks to me like it
is not possible to build CEDET on windows any more, but I am not sure.
Doing away with the make files would perhaps make it very much easier.
