Thanks for the info. I've checked in a small change to cedet.el to signal an error if cedet is already loaded. Hopefully this will make things faster to solve for similar situations. As it is a bit fundamental, it would be great for folks to try it out and make sure it has no unintended consequences in some different situations. Thanks!
