Hello, all - I recently installed Xemacs (version 21.4.15) compiled from source without mule support. I also installed the xemacs-sumo tarball, and up until now everything has been fine. I then decided that I wanted to give the CEDET tools a try. I downloaded the cedet-1.03b version tarball and followed the instructions in the INSTALL file, passing the "EMACS=xemacs" option to make. This went fine. I then added the relevant lines to ~/.xemacs/init.el - this loaded (I assume) the necessary semantic tools, etc. Except that when I go to open a java file, or a C file, etc., I get the following error: Symbolic value as variable is void: semantic-tfe-overlay I've had this error once before, with ECB, which if I understand it correctly is to do with byte-compiled state of the files? What I can't quite work out is what is causing it here. The above error occurs with or without ECB loaded. If I comment out the lines that load up semantic support from ~/.xemacs/init.el, the problem goes away, but clearly this is not what I want. :) Is there a fix, or have I done something stupid? -- Thomas Adam -- I know nothing, and understand even less. |
