Hello Eric, thanks for your reply.

I did M-x semantic-ectag-version and got:
"Exuberent CTags not found. Found unknown ctags version."

Then did M-x describe-variable
semantic-ectag-program, and it's set to "ctags", which i think is correct, as it's the binary program name.

Also, ctags --version is:
Exuberant Ctags 5.8, Copyright (C) 1996-2009 Darren Hiebert
  Compiled: Feb 23 2010, 12:56:25
  Addresses: <dhiebert@users.sourceforge.net>, http://ctags.sourceforge.net
  Optional compiled features: +wildcards, +regex

What should i do next? thanks for your help again.

By the way, what's the best way to reply here to this specific message if the Digest Mode is On?

As it suggests, try running:

M-x semantic-ectag-version RET

Presumably it will say "Cannot find program FOO", where FOO might be
"ctags", or something.

You can then change the variable semantic-ectag-program to be whatever
the actual ctags binary is called, and try running
semantic-ectag-version again.

Good Luck
