Cedar Backup v2.24.1 has been released. This release adds a new tool cback-amazons3-sync, used for synchronizing entire directories of files up to an Amazon S3 cloud storage bucket, outside of the normal Cedar Backup process. This can be useful for directories that change regularly, but for which the normal date-versioned (and encrypted) backup process isn't necessary. For instance, I'm using it to backup my Gallery v1 photo albums. A lifecyle rule immediately archives the photos into the lower-cost Glacier storage tier. You can get the latest Python source package from this URL: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/cedar-backup/CedarBackup2-2.24.1.tar.gz You can get the latest Debian package from the Cedar Solutions APT source, or from one of these URLs: http://cedar-solutions.com/ftp/debian/dists/jessie/binary-i386/admin/cedar-backup2/cedar-backup2_2.24.1-1_all.deb http://cedar-solutions.com/ftp/debian/dists/jessie/binary-amd64/admin/cedar-backup2/cedar-backup2_2.24.1-1_all.deb http://cedar-solutions.com/ftp/debian/dists/wheezy/binary-i386/admin/cedar-backup2/cedar-backup2_2.24.1-1_all.deb http://cedar-solutions.com/ftp/debian/dists/wheezy/binary-amd64/admin/cedar-backup2/cedar-backup2_2.24.1-1_all.deb Users of the Debian unstable distribution can also install the latest Debian package from their favorite Debian mirror.
