Hello Henry, On 2011.08.12 19:50, hong zhang wrote: > May I use current cec package for OMAP4 HDMI CEC with kernel 2.6.35 or higher? The current libcec and cecd should work with kernel 2.6.35. They are not tied to a specific kernel version. However they have only been tested against 2.6.12, as this is the only kernel for which we have a custom CEC driver (Realtek one). Please be aware that the official Linux kernel does not include any HDMI-CEC driver at the moment, as these are very hardware specific and are mostly found on SoCs that have no yet been integrated to mainline. > If so, what should be modified to fit CEC in TI OMAP4? If TI provides an HDMI-CEC driver, then you will need to add a backend for that driver in libcec, similar to what is done in the libcec/linux_realtek_soc.c file. Please have a look at that file, as it should provide hints at what you need to do to add support for a non Realtek CEC drivers. Once you have that, you should be able to use libcec/cecd. Also be mindful that it's not because a device has an HDMI port that it will support HDMI-CEC, as many manufacturers choose not to implement that feature. Do you have information indicating that the OMAP4 does? Has TI released a kernel source code that includes an HDMI-CEC driver? Regards, /Pete |
