Hello, In setting up cdsp4, how do you "revision" the data with ic 5.0.33? I do not see the "Library Commands -> Revision" option in the menu. Thanks, Robert |

Folks, a) Cadence have as yet not issued Perforce with their license file and the GDM libraries. This is expected to happen soon. I'm assuming that all interested parties want to run/are running DFII 4.4.3, QSR3. QSR2 and lower have some ugly IPC bugs. If you are running 4.4.4 or 4.4.5 or perhaps 4.4.2 please let me know. The only supported platform at this time is Solaris, preferably 2.7. b) Perforce will snap the code into the Public Depot when I have a first cut of the documentation ready. I'm currently pretty busy deploying this internally (which is incidentally going extremely smoothly and is a transition from 4.3) so I don't yet have a good estimate, but hopefully not longer than a couple of weeks. Quite a few new features have been added over the last few months and the regression testing is almost complete. c) The copyright notices have been agreed and will state the BSD terms and that the copyright owner is Perforce Software and the original owner is SGI. d) A Synchronicity to Perforce converter is underway. Perforce are currently working on licensing issues for RCE (the base synchronicity engine) so that the converter can be distributed. Thanks, Shiv |

Perforce does not support "#" in filenames. This conflicts with the Cadence name mapping scheme. ie foo.bar maps to foo#2ebar as the filename. The only solution is to not use escaped names for cells and views. In practice, the only one that crops up again and again is "." eg test.1.obs.net --Shiv |

The actual code will be hosted on the Perforce Public Depot, but release tarballs, corresponding to Perforce branches on the public depot will be available on SourceForge. SourceForge is just a very convenient place for documenatation, news, mailing lists, forums, downloads etc. If you are plan to be a developer you should familiarize yourself with the Public Depot mechanism. Thanks, Shiv |

Hi Shiv, Were you planning on using SourceForge as the download/development site or the Perforce home page, or both? Thanks! --tara |
