When MDS is opened by two applications in write mode there seems to be an MDS database corruption happening, occasionally manifesting itself as missing MDS entries. This is currently worked-around in the code by opening the MDS in write mode only by install, and all the other times opening in read mode. However, if MDS is opened in write mode any time after installation, this bug will appear.
