Hi sorry, I just disvovered this:

Reducing transfer size from 64512 to 32768 bytes.
resid: 60
resid: 28

This may be related to a Linux kernel (driver) bug that has been reported in 
January.

Please try to call

        cdrecord scgopts=ignore-resid ...

to ignore this false error message from the kernel.
